4 scriptures for the weary

4 scriptures for the weary

Y'all it is 2:54 am on Tuesday morning when I am writing this.  I am tired sore and weary.  My vehicle has officially been declared totaled no more gone.  So the search for a vehicle to replace a vehicle we have had for over 10 years begins. It adds to an ever-growing list of things to do.  It is a blessing though that I can look for a vehicle. It is a blessing that I got to walk away from that crash.

It is funny I was wearing my fearfully and wonderfully made sweatshirt that day and my But God beanie.  Truly But God protected and sheltered me.  So despite what I have to add to my to-do list moving forward.  I take this time to say thank you, God.

Perhaps you are like me giving thanks but also self-aware enough to realize you are weary.

If so I want to share with you 4 scriptures to help you hang on.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain

This scripture reminds me that nothing we do for God is wasted.

Psalm 30:5

For His anger is fleeting, but His favor lasts a lifetime. Weeping may stay the night, but joy comes in the morning.

I love this one because God recognizes we are going to cry.  It is okay to cry just know that joy is coming our Abba promises it.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

It is the wait for me, knowing that I need to wait on the Lord maybe just maybe that is why this has been so hard.

Galatians 6:9 King James Bible

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

This is my favorite verse.

My pastor says Christians have 5 seasons, spring, summer, fall, winter and due season hang in there  God has got you!

I hope they encourage you to reset, refocus and re-engage.  Maybe after a good rest :)

Do you also have a but God testimony?
